I believe reviewing Prince Edward Island history it lost almost 40% of the people at one time to the United States.. Many ended up in Boston area... As a kid growing up all my parents friends were from Prince Ed. When I would go back in summer it was like an extension of the Boston area. ajoining farms were the brothers or sisters of my fathers mothers friends. It was like the whole Province moved to the area at one time... Now in those days you had the big fabic industry going gang busters, tanning factories, shoe factories, and industry starting. States was still in depression from what I read until ww11. It appears the war took US out of its economic problems.
