I just heard on the news that there is a countdown clock in NYC, à la New Year's Eve, toward 12:01 when the next Harry Potter book officially goes on sale. Some poor vendor sold one in advance, the NYTimes got hold of excerpts, and now the publisher is suing for huge amounts of money.
Also I learned that the cast members of Friends make a million dollars an episode.
I just don't know how you all can think America doesn't have its priorities straight. :)
