Ed, Que has the report. Ask him about it. Thanks to everyone for the informative posts.

As I understand the possible risks, the 500yd buffer is just to keep you from shooting them. It isn't to keep you from being toasted if something happens. I have been told that all of the safety and security precautions you read about are true, including the helicopters and screening ships. Has anyone seen one of the ships entering a dock?

Of course, the places that are built and permitted will operate. But who among you would want one of these things next door to you? NIMBY's are one thing, but if you were a resident of Bagdad last Winter and they put an anti-aircraft battery next door, you would have been properly concerned <g>.
