You have failed to respond to any of my points. Your misdirection and evasion has become insipid and banal.
"First of all, you completely failed to demonstrate through reason, that rape is rationally and objectively "wrong" based on an evolutionary system"
HUH? I never said that there was an objective wrong. I said that morality was a question of opinion, feeling, and reasoning RELATIVE to each individual and relative to culture, place, and time.
"as a creature created in the image of the maker I know intuitively that some actions are right or wrong. What I am asking is how do you explain it using reason alone. It's pretty obvious that you can't, that's why you keep appealing to emotion"
Let us pretend you are right. Let us pretend that people do not use their head and their heart to determine what is right or wrong. Let us pretend that all people are like you (claim to be)--that they determine what is right or wrong by their "intuition". How then do you explain the fact that this intuition gives people different answers to what ought to be an ABSOLUTE moral conclusion?" For instance, "YOUR" soldier kills the enemy soldier and you consider it "RIGHT"; but the enemy soldier, his family, and most of his countrymen consider it "WRONG". Again, the "intuition" of Muslims tells them that a woman wearing high heels or noisy shoes or walking in public with exposed face is "EVIL". There is nothing in your "intuition" which considers it so...is there, Greg?
Many Jews think that eating pork is sinful. Do you believe that, Greg? If morality is not relative, Greg, then how come all people determine morality in accordance with their subjective feelings, their personal reasoning and education, and their cultural and social influences?? The different moral stances of people and groups demonstrates by congruency to the definition that morality is relative.
You have painted yourself into a corner by insisting that your only link to morality is "intuitive" and "innate". Unfortunately for your argument, if this is the only guide to morality that others have as well, then the implication is that there are millions of Gods--LOL!! There are certainly millions of opinions based on this built-in guide to ABSOLUTE right and wrong! :-)
Now do the "right" thing. Pray to Allah...walk to Mecca! |
