The administration's best source said that the weapons were gone by 1995. If there were almost certainly weapons then Bush would have just let Hans Blix stumble across them because it would have brought a united front to wage and pay for the war. The rush to invade, and the supression of information to the inspectors, is the clearest proof that Junior and Rumsfeld knew that a thorough inspection and detailed answers over any remaining points would have shown Saddam to be disarmed.
