What IS a permanent answer? It appears that only extermination of one side by the other would be.

The Israelis aren't going to leave peacefully. Even if, say, the US offered all Israelis asylum and citizenship, few would leave. As Jewel and I have been saying, it's that particular piece of real estate that everyone is after.

And the Palestinians? Where can they go? The Arab countries surrounding that area have had 50 years to take them in and will not do so. Given that, they're stuck and might as well fight it out.
