xxreno,

Re lng - I have had the opportunity to work in the industry. When I first got to talk to the "experts" I had the same concerns you express re the safety of LNG. Well - I got a long lesson - it is not what you think. If you really want to worry about something worry about tanker trucks on the streets. LNG is liquid methane - CH4. It has a moleculare weight of 17 - air as an MW of 29. If it leaks it must vaporize. When it vaporizes it will rise. Now - compare that to propane - C2H6. That has a molecular weight of 30 - if it leaks it will not rise.

I wish I could find a good article on LNG safety. Trust me - after 9-11 the good Senator Mik'ski whatever found a great opportunity to try to show how she could protect her constituents - she failed. Ya know - even the facts won't usually stop a liberal democrat - this time - the facts won out. The terminal is being opened.
