Lazurus, I saw a History Channel program on the USS Liberty the survivors assert much of what you wrote. They felt the attack was deliberate ,that the Israelis knew is was a US ship - flying a giant flag and they did fire on life boats. One of the torpedo boat attacks lasted 45 minutes! with the US flag flying. The US Sailors also signaled the attacking boats with morse code lights. What is most outrageous is the fact that US fighter jets were launched ( after the unmarked Jet fighter attack but before the Israeli torpedo boat attacks) and later recalled by Washington . The accounts of the sailors were compelling and I am more inclined to believe them than lying politicians from the US or Israel. Mike
