I thought we were all members of the human race, consisting of various tribes, with a lot more intermixing than previously thought. So in that respect, the 'scholars' are correct when they say race is a social construct.

I have never liked being called white. I am a Celt. And a Teuton, but I downplay that, too much damn brooding and moroseness in that tribe.

If those students really want to learn about whiteness, they should read Martin Mull's History of White People and its sequel A Paler Shade of White. He chronicles why white people dust their light bulbs, vacuum the dog dish, etc.
