Bush now trying to team with Ted Kennedy on prescription drugs. Everyone knows he's just trying to steal a Democratic issue but isn't it strange how Bush cozies up to Teddy every time he wants to throw out a decent plan on education or health care? Apparently, Bush needs Teddy's brains, credibility and influence on big domestic issues, because Bush has very little credibility on these issues. Everyone knows he'd cut them to ribbons if he could.

If you watched Teddy on C-Span yesterday you'd have seen a very wise, concerned leader who's got no problem working with Republicans, but isn't afraid to call a spade a spade. for instance, he remembered in the 60's with the GOP was for completely doing away with Medicare and social Security. And he notes things haven't changed, if you listen to Santorum and Gingrich.

If they could get away with it, Bushies would force everyone into private plans to benefit GOP campaign contributors, enrich the rich and hurt consumers. But the Bushies will never tell you that, will they?

Turns out Teddy was right about the Iraq War too, that is was ill-planned, based on poor evidence, was not worth shattering our alliances in Europe for, and was not defending us from any imminent threat. While it was a tough decision, most like Kerry gave Bush the benefit of the doubt. Now Bush has failed those people who put their trust in him. But wise old Teddy was never fooled.

PS - Kerry no longer works closely with Teddy, and has broken ranks with him on some major issues, though Teddy has endorsed John. Kerry is closer to McCain than Kennedy these days.
