Dying for your code is a complex issue that isn't to be taken lightly nor joked about nor dismissed out of hand.

Killing innocents is almost universally condemned by those who adhere to the Code of the Warrior.

It is better to die than to voluntarily kill innocents. This is part of the Warrior's Code. Tough row to hoe but nobody said it would be easy. Easy is for wusses.

The most famous Warrior Codes are Japanese - Bushido and Samurai.

But Islam has a Warrior Code that condemns killing the innocent. Thus, terrorists are dishonorable because they do not abide by the code.

I have no idea whether there is a Jewish Code of the Warrior, but expect that there probably is. At least, I hope so.

The codes which are beneath contempt are the ones that say it's a violation to kill your own but killing The Other is perfectly OK, regardless of whether The Other are innocent, helpless, and no threat.
