you don't think Feinstein is better than Davis?
Yeah. But I think Mao was better than Hitler too. That's damning with small praise.

but I admired her independent voice on the issue.
Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Nobody is wrong all the time on everything.

I don't quite get why Feinstein is lumped in with Boxer as if they are 2 zebras with the same stripes.
Hmmmm......
Well, actually, they often seem to want to give that impression themselves. And they agree with each other far more often than they agree with me.

Maybe to the far right crowd, anybody who is pro-choice and pro-environment is some kind of liberal nut
Am I far right?
Pro-choice is not a litmus test for me, but I definitely prefer it.
Religious Right? That's a litmus test. Once you claim them as yours (as many of the the recent Republican statewide candidates have), you lose my vote. But in those situations, I often vote Libertarian because I can't stand the Dem candidate either.

Pro-environment? That depends. Environmentalists often are nuts who don't have their facts straight. Remember the medfly spraying and "terror in the night"?

Not always, though. Sometimes they have a point and an important one. Better the last lumber company go bankrupt than that the last thousand-year-old redwood be cut down.
