If you and Laz use different criteria then you might come up with different conclusions but that doesn't prevent you from talking about the subject.

But Laz wasn't interested in criteria. He asked whether globalization was good or bad, a simple yes or no. He attempted to preclude any discussion of criteria.

Is weather good or bad, yes or no? ... Which is also not a stupid question.

It sure is a stupid question. Weather exists. It can only be assessed as good or bad in a specific context with certain conditions.

I can ask the people of the great state of Maryland whether they think it would be good if it rained all this week. I have a certain expectation of what answer I'd get. But I wouldn't expect the same answer from the people of the great State of Arizona; particularly in the area northwest of Tuscon.

It might be stupid to ask that question over SI because people are in different places and may not know where everyone else lives.

I just illustrated why that is not true. I can ask over SI whether one week of moderate rain this week would be good northwest of Tuscon. I've added context that makes it a reasonable question. It's the context [Tuscon] that makes it a reasonable question, not where I ask it [over SI].
