I think we are looking at this from different perspectives. If I understand your perspective correctly, Bush had a reason or reasons for going to war with Iraq that were not valid (i.e. Weapons of Mass Destruction).

My perspective is that there were many reasons to go to war with Iraq which formed a very convincing arguement to risk life and limb to stop the despotism of Saddam Hussein. Among those was the threat either currently or down the road of Iraqi weaponry being used against US citizens. If you want to focus on just that one reason alone, fine, but; you have not convinced me that the regime of Saddam would never pose a threat to US citizens if left to its own resources, nor; would I ever consider an eternal inspection team to be an effective intervention.
