Big unemployment and the guy is toast.

There's unemployment and there are the unemployment claim numbers. Given that you only stay in the unemployment claim system for one year (I believe that is the current length; congress keeps fiddling with the number), even though the economy may still be loosing jobs (and at a very serious rate), if the repubs can just temporarily reduced the rate of job lose, the claim numbers will come down. This will be spun as though the economy is gaining jobs, when in fact only the rate of job loss will have been reduced.

Could be wrong , but I believe that is what Rove is "shootin' for".
