"There is no way to peace; peace IS the way."

Depends on what the definition of "Peace" is or "Equality" is.

Peacefulness in the sense of a life that is void of contention is not peace; Especially when one group of people are oppressed or tyrranized by another. Peaceful coexistence exists when there is an absence of injustice and a regard for the well being of all concerned.

Equality is not reached when I divide my wealth with someone who has nothing. The nothing person may well spend this wealth on liquor and wild wild women, and in short order be empty handed again. Likewise with opportunity and social status. It is a formula for the decomposition of society. Spending my wealth on a needy person is kind and charitable and is likely to bring about improvement of societal conditions but has little to do with equality. Simply dividing up societies assets, or private property is counter productive and does not establish equality. Equality exists only in the context of mutual caring and respect for the well being of one another. It cannot be given, it can only be shared.
