RE: the following press release makes me think that I would like to own a Shark--& I own both a Jaz & a Zip drive. The Shark looks good.>>

Well, Shark may be better than the external Zip, the question is with whom you are going to exchange disks? The probability that anyone around you owns (or will own) the Shark drive is MICROSCOPIC. Too late, too little. It comes too late, the numbers of drives sold are too small. What are you going to do when Zip is installed in every (or almost) computer sold? Are you sure you will be even able to buy Shark media two years down the road? From the position it has now Zip's chances in this case are much better. Two years ago Shark might have been a hit. Today it is just a little bubble in the market dominated by Iomega, IMO. I love new computer toys and my computer has 8 drives (no kidding - 3 hard drives, floppy, Ditto tape, Zip, 24xCD-ROM, and 2x4 CD-Recordable), but I would think twice before buying something with so high risk of incompatibility.
