Checking over my radar screen and Bell Industries jumped out only because its a Berkshire Hathaway holding and somewhat of a strange pick for that company. I Learned about this one on the Berkshire Hathaway Yahoo message board some time ago. The 2002 proxy lists Warren E. Buffet owning 5.4% of the company -- the Berkshire thread speculated it was a Lou Simpson pick.

BI is currently selling at about net current assets.
Insiders purchased 100,000 shares in February and March, 2003, not that that's any big deal as the stock was trading at $1.60 per share back then.

The earnings history is very lumpy.
