"The very survival of western culture"? People can believe whatever they want, it goes with religious freedom. The threat to "the very survival of western culture" from what currently looks to be non-existent WMDs seems to have been greatly exaggerated , to paraphrase Twain. But conveniently exaggerated, which is, of course, another story.

Rummy got his war, to great local gloatage. I know it's just totally unfair and symptomatic of "political hatred", or something, to look back at what went into Rummy getting his war, but that's life.

I'm quite aware of the careful consideration that's always been given around here to the perspective of anybody opposed to Rummy's war. The perspective lecture, impresses me pretty much as much as the civility lecture. It cuts both ways, and I got my own perspective on which way most of the cutting goes around here, on a volume basis.
