Laptop? The first question is..what are you going to be doing with it? Heavy video editing or just email and "trying" to trade the markets? If you are not going to build your own-try dell or ibm. At least 256 MB ram-go for 512. Really don't need the high end processor unless you are doing heavy duty. Maybe a 40 GB+ hard drive. Do you need built in network for dsl\cable modem? Wireless? So many questions-so little time. By the way......where's my money? Go to the vendors web pages and configure one the way you like it.
