Yes Ken Lay was a great seductive conman. With his secret schemes, he conned the federal government, state governments, Wall Street, investors, employees and foreign countries. But the Bushie trick of trying to link him to Clinton is laughable and ignores the clear and present FACT, that Ken Lay and Bush were so-so tight. Enron was in fact joined at the hip with Bush and his campaign.
Enron and Lay gave more money to Bush over the years than any company has ever given any politican, BY FAR, and the collusion went deep. Enron served as Bush Campaign Central in 2000. Enron let Bushies use their private jets for free, threw them lavish parties, paid for the Innauguration, hired political operatives like Ralph Reed for Bush and called them "energy consultants". Ken Lay was Bush's choice for Secretary Of Treasury. Lay had free access to the White House and lobbied Cheney successfully on energy policy. In return, Bushies defended Lay and the rest from prosecution related to the phony energy crisis and the mass gouging of Americans, particularly in California. And worst of all, up until now, Bushies have shielded Lay and SKilling from prison, though they are perhaps the greatest white collar crooks in history.
Finally Enron's top lobbyist Ed Gillespie has been blessed by Bush to run the RNC now. A conman's conman runs your party. And you dare to try and "blame Clinton". LOL |
