| But you should be proud of not being a cabbage tree, Mq .... me, i am proud of just knowing what one is, and of living so long without having one fall on my head .... fish are another matter, i sort of agree with you here, although i never did like the name Wanda either, there is that to it ..... you are just trying to make me type late into the wee hours, and have not really misunderstood my use of the term 'proud' there, i know this, yet as overseas charity i'll go through the motions - there was a time not so long ago on this continent, as on others, when only the lighter-hued european had the right to 'proud', all other shades held by the great majority of skins had not this right, nor much of any other right either .... first thing mexicanos did on independence was to outlaw slavery and write into the constitucion the equality of all within the nation ... all males that is, and so to this day the macho mexicano is proud of having done so, among other things .... many other things, real and imagined, great and small - it was amusing how we heard all those stories, we had a young mexicana staying with us, and the males just had this strange way of appearing .... once she had been here for a while and met two more very good-looking friends, then the place got really busy, it was amazing .... but no harm done, we handled it well, and of this we are proud |
