There are thousands of people to exchange views with on SI; I figure skipping a few dozen won't make me much poorer intellectually in the long run.

It also strips these "people" of any influence in your life. Face it, they are already hiding behind pseudonyms, it's not like they have the necessary backbone to say something to your face. Then you just erase them from your version of SI and poof! they vanish into the cybermist. They become less than nothing.

I never had much trouble with that idea at all. I'm sure someone along the line decided to put me on Ignore too. Can't say the thought ever bothered me.
