Fascinating I had assumed you meant alternative energy because the oil will run out

Now it seems like alternate energy because some perhaps today unforeseen invention/technology will coopt or rather preempt petroleum making it superfluous.

Although it will be in excess it will be near to worthless because we will have something better. Or it will be in excess because it will be worthless.

Is this more or less what you envision????????
