I know for a fact that once in my life I got a job through affirmative action, back in 1973. Does anybody give jobs, outright, to women based on affirmative action these days?

I suspect that being 30 and female helped get me into Tulane Law School, ten years later, although that was more "diversity" than "affirmative action".

I don't have a problem with affirmative action, due to lack of hypocrisy, and also due to growing up in the Jim Crow South and seeing how badly blacks were treated - although I do wonder when - and whether - it will ever end.

On a hopeful note, recently it was reported that teen pregnancy rates and out-of-wedlock birth rates are declining. I think that will do more to advance the living conditions of black people than almost anything else. Growing up in a two parent household is almost essential for good development.
