So what is your point? That Israel's got fruitcake religiosos? They're a minority and don't run the country.

If Sharon's government is willing to do something radical, then they're going to come out and challenge him, and the majority of Israelis who don't want to fulfill biblical prophesy with bodies of their children and do want a peaceable arrangement with the Palestinians.

One problem the Israeli-Palestinians have is symmetry. If the one is going to have a "civil war" so will the other. They can have 'em out and out, down and dirty, or low key. Either way, their respective trouble makers will have to be taken off the board.

The leadership of neither relishes the prospect but outside forces are pushing them in that direction.
