Hi AE, I found out about the new CheckFree auction payments service on eBay's web site and followed the links to the CheckFree web site I posted here.

This is obviously a NEW CheckFree payment service, albeit a very much-anticipated service offering by those who follow CheckFree, and the promotion of this new auction payment service will no doubt be more prominent in the future. Although, I have not noticed a recent press release, it may have been delayed as a part of a larger marketing campaign to be announced at a later date. Perhaps eBay's annual users conference would be a good time for an announcement?

However, as usual, CheckFree will be in competition with eBay's own payment service, so that may mitigate some of the marketing of the service on eBay itself. But, CheckFree should be very familiar with this kind of situation, in fact I believe Pete Kight calls it "co-opetition".

Perhaps, the next time someone here participates in an auction on eBay they can try out CkeckFree's new payment service and let us all know how well it works?
