The problem is that Yassin, and his Lieutenants believe that "Palestinian land" consists of ALL OF PALESTINE, INCLUDING ISRAEL.
It's funny you say that, after I posted a quote that clearly proves the exact opposite. Regardless, most of the Israeli leadership, including Sharon, believes that "Israel" consist of ALL OF PALESTINE, INCLUDING THE WEST BANK AND GAZA. Some believe it includes parts of Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt.

And the fact that Hamas (coordinating with other groups) launched a series of attacks leading up to, and immediately after, the Aquaba summit, where Israel agreed to dismantle settlements
Liar. Actually, Israel rejected the Road Map. And Israel did not agree to dismantle a single settlement. Israel in fact stated it would continue to add new settlements. And Israel's military continued to assault the Palestinian people. Thus, we have Hamas with some counterattacks.
Look at their ideology Thomas... Hamas is an off-shoot of the Moslem Brotherhood, believing along the lines of the Wahhabists of Saudi Arabia. They have NO DESIRE to make peace with Jews (or any other "infidels"). Any peace would be used to increase their strength and base of power for later "jihads".
And look at the Israeli ideology. They believe that Jews are the Chosen People. They believe that non-Jews are on a lower moral plane than Jews. They only want to make peace to strengthen themselves for future conquest.
"In internal discussion in 1938 [David Ben-Gurion] stated that 'after we become a strong force, as a result of the creation of a state, we shall abolish partition and expand into the whole of Palestine'...In 1948, Menachem Begin declared that: 'The partition of the Homeland is illegal. It will never be recognized. The signature of institutions and individuals of the partition agreement is invalid. It will not bind the Jewish people. Jerusalem was and will forever be our capital. Eretz Israel (the land of Israel) will be restored to the people of Israel, All of it. And forever."

As always, Israel and its supporters BITTERLY oppose the peace process, because it means an end to their conquest of Arab land.
