Hitchens must be besides himself. Is he unwinding? This article seemed hysterical and desperate.
He did the big switch and it will be hard for him to continue tojustify his existing position by "blaming the Victim" as he does in this Kerry piece.

I am waiting for some bright fellow to compare this Iraq fiasco with the Clinton Model which was so successfully used in Bosnia. He wisely avoided the UN, created a strong coalition, made plans for the aftermath and succeeded on all counts. Our troop presence is low, the bad guy is being tried by a World COurt as a criminal and coalition casualties were minimal. Oh, and by the way, even though the UN was not asked for a resolution they happily do the peacekeeping. And all while being vilified and constrained by the foul mouthed Republicans. Did I mention that this action was just because people were being ethnically cleansed. We didn't even have a natural resource in the fight.

Too bad VonRumsfeld didn't use the proven Clinton template for his fast-hitting-smaller-troop tactics.

Maybe Tekboy's FA will encourage someone to do the comparison. It seems odd to me that there is so little analysis of our military efforts since 1990.
