A few months back, the entire corporate media was telling "NO" to other countries' offers to help in Iraq, thinking that Iraq was a trophy. Now they are realizing that it is not a trophy but a steaming hot potato and are now asking various other countries like India and Pakistan to send "peace-keeping" troops. The people in those countries see no point in sending their young men to a mess that they didn't create.

Can't say that some people didn't foresee this. Unfortunately, this appears to be just the beginning of a bloody guerrilla conflict. And as always, the poor and the minorities (many of whom are poor) will end up paying a high price -- both in terms of life and in terms of money.
