We need to get 50% off oil PERIOD in 10 years. That means a major investment in clean fuels infrastructure. Bush is Mister Oil Biz so he refuses to do that of course. Kerry will, however. And will create a very profitable new business which helps clean our world and brings down global warming. It will also make the US much more secure, so our soldiers dont have to die for oil as they are doing now.

You say we can just go conquer oil countries, but look at Iraq. They are blowing up pipelines and killing our troops. It is a frigging disaster which will probably get a lot worse before it gets any better. We will probably spend a trillion dollars over ten years to occupy that sand trap, and lose thousands of soldiers in the process. If you think we can occupy the Gulf without non-stop costly war you're just dreaming. It will play right into Al Qaida's hands. That is the principal flaw in the neocon dream. Voodoo foreign policy and voodoo economics. Neither works.
