Quit lying about Davis. He's the legit governor and knows better than anyone what the complex problems are now. He may not be exciting and charismatic but he's the most experienced guy we could possibly have in thre now. And we dont need some right-wing real estate tycoon coming in to loot the treasury and open up our environment tl massive development. You can't balance budgets unless you make hard choices. Sometimes that means taxes and revenues. The car tax is just returning it to what it was when Pete Wilson was in office. Tough medicine but temporary. And maybe more people will car-pool and fill our near-empty buses and trains. If you listen to Davis on the details instead of just attacking him you'd understand what he's doing, how he's trying to minimize the pain. You'll know he's doing the best he can. If not for the energy ripoffs, California would be in no worse situation than Texas and other GOP-run states. And far better off than the federal government under Bush with its new trillion+ dollar deficits. By your logic Bush ought to be replaced too.
