Last count I saw was around 375,000 signatures; 1.2 million needed. Most coming from ultra-conservative San Diego.

Most Californians I know think that Davis is either doing a good job, or not so hot but shouldn't be recalled. They see it as political grandstanding and posturing. The movement is led by a fellow with quite a few scrapes with the law, so I think the Republicans will distance themselves from the effort.
