This is what's so great about our country. If we do nothing, it's our fault. If we do something, we're just as culpable. And the very worst thing we can do is do something to undo what we did or didn't do in the first place. No matter what happens, it can always be blamed on us.

You can always find someone to complain about anything and call any course of action bankrupt...except whatever it is they would have done. Which is usually: nothing.
