Hi Hawkmoon; Re: "Why do they support Osama? What does he have to offer them?? How will he improve their lives?
"

Because Osama:

(1) Speaks their language.
(2) Believes in their religion.
(3) Helps them to fight a foreign invader.
(4) Offers them pride in being Arabs.
(5) And they don't really give a shit what Osama does to improve their lives.

It is human nature to root for the little guy, who fights on despite all odds. For the Arabs, Osama is the "David" who takes on the US (i.e. "Goliath"), armed only with a box cutting knife (i.e. slingshot).

And the Arabs eat it up. Osama's popularity is quite high:

...
The percentage of people expressing "a lot of confidence" or "some confidence" in bin Laden was higher than similar ratings for Bush in the Palestinian territories (71 percent to 1 percent), Morocco (49 percent to 2 percent), Jordan (55 percent to 1 percent), Indonesia (58 percent to 8 percent) and Turkey (15 percent to 8 percent), the Post said.
...

Now go back and take a look at your questions.

You're basically too clueless to understand why it is that Osama beats Bush in Arab popularity polls.

That's why you have difficulty seeing why the attack on Iraq is a setback for the War on Terror. You just are clueless about human nature.
