I don't know why people are so incapable of separating stupidity from uselessness.

The recipients have plenty to do with the process. They can counter the accusations with reason, or they can admit to the legitimacy of the criticism. The fact that a criticism may be unkindly phrased does not vitiate the accuracy of the charge.
