This probably falls into the stupid question category but what the heck.

I've got a system Win XP that goes offline on Cable Modem after about a half-hour. I've tried all the standard stuff like swapping modems, cables, etc., so I figured I'd start from scratch and reload everything, figuring somewhere in Windows there's a problem.

It used to be that you would reformat the drive and then reload windows, etc.

What do you do in Win XP

Thanks all.
