Thank you. Recently I was corrected by a good friend on the then/than (time/comparison) so I think I've got that one down, but the its/it's has dogged me until now, it's just never made sense to me that the contraction gets the apostrophe. Just last night I was explaining to friends that if you want to get better as a writer, write publicly on a board such as this. If what you are writing isn't clear and concise you find out almost immediately. Especially after whatever it is that you are expressing an opinion about isn't received in the spirit with which you wrote it. -g-
