I don't know what's of less value, the posters that constantly carp about one pet peeve or another, or those who proclaim to be Q investors, but never pass up a chance to take a shot at IJ, or capitalize on some Q negative, however small, while constantly offering positive spin for Nokia. Actually there's only one of these that I can think of. He's loaded with facts about GSM deployments, issues, and plans - to the point that I'm suspicious that he has inside sources. He may even be on their payroll, or be paid fees of some sort. We'll never know.
While he has some Q shares, I would bet they are a very small fraction of his portfolio. They are only there so he can say he's a Q investor; so he can claim to be objective - to be technology neutral - on SI and elsewhere, and in letters he writes to regulators etc., championing GSM.
Everything he writes is a grain of salt twice removed.
All of us have vested interests. The majority of us are open about them, some conceal them, and some proclaim them falsely. |
