FACT: Said drones can't fly more than 300 miles, and Iraq is 6000 miles from the U.S. coastline. Furthermore, Iraq's drone-building program wasn't much more advanced than your average model plane enthusiast. And isn't a "manned aerial vehicle" just a scary way to say "plane"?

Washington — The spectre of small, pilotless, Iraqi aircraft spewing invisible clouds of deadly anthrax or spraying nerve gas on Israel or on U.S. troops produced new accusations from senior U.S. officials Monday that Baghdad is duping the world about its disarmament.
"This information on the drones should be of concern to everyone," U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell said after UN inspectors reported at least two types of pilotless Iraqi aircraft that had been modified for spraying.
United Nations inspectors have also uncovered evidence of a modified short-range Iraqi rocket capable of spewing small bombs designed to carry chemical or germ-warfare agents.

Because "the drones can be assembled, can be disassembled, can be easily transported, can be launched from a variety of places, [they] present a threat to the United States," White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said Monday.

The UN inspectors' report came as no surprise to the White House, which has been feeding its own intelligence reports to the inspectors about such systems.
