This is quite false. The Bush Administration used the threat of WMD to underscore the urgency of checking Iraq, especially in view of Saddam’s eleven-year pattern of insolence regarding the U.N. mandate to certifiably disarm. I think you are being terribly unfair here – or at least profoundly ignorant of the chain of events concerning this matter. You question, "Else why did we invade?" suggests profound ignorance. And that is just fine. But now you have been given the facts - and so ignorance is no longer an excuse.
