I think yes.

I think so too. I'm just not so sure about where it's going, and I'm not just thinking about what's best for the Iraqis. US interests are involved as well.

I'm wondering whether we will stick with it, if it turns into a real liability.

I talked the other night with a friend in the construction industry in Dubai. Second-hand information, obviously, but he told me that the subcontractors on the Bechtel rehabilitation contract are racked up in Dubai, doing absolutely nothing. Security is one concern, another is that there apparently isn't any money coming down.

There is a real limit to the rehabilitation work that can be done by the military. That's not their job.

Many questions yet to be answered, but my overall feeling isn't good.
