I honestly don't think very many people really care one way or another about what Maureen Dowd thinks. I haven't heard of any serious damage to anyone's career as a result of her writings. The only damage I see is to herself and any semblance of respectability she may have had in the past. Her style is so predictable and just too offensive for most people. And I don't think most of them want to think her kinds of thoughts. Nor do they get any kind of pleasure reading them. Her columns are too much like that recipe that, at first glance looks good, but ends up tasting horrible. M
