I saw the eBay/CKFR connection in a Merrill Lynch note. CKFR had a booth at the recent eBay sellers conference. ML didn't think it was a big deal, but implmenting and promoting the service wasn't a big expense on CKFR's part either.

As I understand it both buyer and seller have to be registered with CKFR which is a negative at this point. I don't see a big problem getting the sellers lined up - they just sign up and put a button on their site. The user just signs up with CKFR, too - no monthly charge.

I see the service appealing to buyers who don't have a charge card. There are lots of them that have checking accounts, but no charge cards.

The advantage to the sellers is that there are no chargebacks or Paypal accounts to deal with. Once the button is clicked the money will show up in the seller's bank account. It's just like a cash transaction with no hope of using an intermediary (Visa or MC) taking the money back if the transaction goes sour.
