We've been over this a hundred times. I doubt you have really missed the concept. Prosecution for massive vote fraud is not practical from a political standpoint, as it involves kicking people out of office who will invariably say, as the Democratic left invariably does, that they are the victims of oppression-and that bogus argument falls on friendly, though illiterate ears. (Besides, do you kick Algore out of unemployment? The system survived DESPITE him.)

All of that is acceptable IF THE PROBLEM IS ADDRESSED. After the Democrat frauds of 1960 and 1976 the Republicans shrugged it off, and just waited for the Democrats to screw up and get beat. After 2000, the extent of the fraud has forced them to finally be diligent. Poll monitoring took a larger share of the Republicans' resources in 2002, and the Dems only got away with Senate races in S. Dakota and Louisianna. That effort must be refined and increased for 2004, as the nothing-to-lose Dems will be after ANYTHING that isn't nailed down.

Fortunately the CFR law-which hopefully will be struck down by SCOTUS-has to date resulted in the Republicans raising more money than they need to protect democracy, while re-electing the president, while the Dems find mostly dry wells...
