Michael, could you point me to the place in the text that bothers you. I'm not even certain which texts since all I did was put up a link for Lind's articles.

I think it's possible to make the Trotskyite argument on two grounds: some of the parents of the present generation of neocons were either such or very close to such. There was another offshoot that was close to the Trotskyites whose name escapes me. The other grounds would be the sort of cult like ways in which highly ideological groups break up over purity of doctrine. I don't know enough about that splitting apart into ever finer forms of doctrinal purity among neoconservatives today but would not be at all surprised to learn it was happening.

But if you could give me the link to the exact article and the place in the text that concerns you, I would be happy to offer my own point of view.
