Stocksman,
Yes, I understand that having the Checkfree option makes life better for all buyers and sellers...

...but if I were an insider at eBay or Paypal, I sure wouldn't be eager to so quickly allow the 800 lb. gorilla of electronic money transfers to step into my living room. Just puzzles me, that's all.

...and again...I understand what you are saying about buyers and sellers using their existing Checkfree accounts, but I would think at this point there would be only a small number of auctions that just happen to match up two individuals that both happen to be existing Checkfree customers. Am I right or wrong? However, I am suggesting that if ONLY the buyer is a Checkfree customer, he can STILL make payment to the seller via Checkfree CHECK, if he chose to do so. As a matter of fact, I could do ALWAYS do that, even before this announcement, if I chose to do so. Because as a Checkfree customer, I can send a check to anyone, anywhere.
