Today, I think everyone can look back and see that that was a mistake. At the time, he did what he thought was best. This kind of terrorism was a relatively new phenomenon at the time. It is easy to criticize Reagan, just as the liberals criticize Bush I, and now Bush II -- hindsight is 20/20.

About one thing we can be certain. If ANY of these events occur while a Democrat is in office, you will see a weak, frustrated response which only encourages further terrorism.

That said, you can't possibly be comparing the withdrawal from Lebanon with Clinton's incompetent failures to act when he could have bin Laden. They aren't comparable in the slightest.
