My wife and I had some fun with the Trotskyite/neocon bit over dinner tonight. The best we could come up with was "the Pen" which we recalled was one of Trotsky's aliases. Weak joke, at best.

No, there was a small but influential group of socialists who called themselves the Schachmanites or Shachmanites or something similar. If I were serious about all this, I would need to check my library for one of the books on politics in the 30s but I'm much too lazy.
