my quick synopsis

This is part my semi-annual narrative review of my stocks. Every six months I try to write one paragraph for each of our stocks to clarify my thoughts. It also gives me the opportunity to look for changes from the last semi-annual check. I post it here to get additional insights.

TGEN (HOLD to BUY)
TGEN is highly speculative. Their products are years from market with unique bureaucratic hurdles to cross because their technology is so advanced but they potentially have the simplest, most effective treatments for AIDS, Cystic Fibrosis, arthritis, and a few other ailments. Keep in mind that is my layman’s assessment. Their management appears to be very capable and continues to impress me. Their management of their manufacturing facility, cash position and stock listing demonstrated their skills. If they remain autonomous and succeed without further significant stock dilution, the potential stock appreciation is enormous. I believe they have greatly increased their chances of succeeding through their recent actions. My BUY suggestion is moderated by the fact that they are biotech and have far greater risks and hurdles than non-biotech firms. The human body and the FDA are highly confusing environments in which to conduct a business and that should not be discounted, which tempers me back towards HOLD.
